Default Taking guns to the range

I'm 16 and would like to take my guns to the range but, i don't know if i can take them in my car. Called the PSP and they told me basically they will arrest me for it but, i would have to ask the sheriff what the laws were. NOW WTF?? they will arrest me but i need to ask the sheriff about the laws. What don't they know the laws that didn't make any sense and i missed the sheriff by about a half a hour and haven't been able to call him. I would like to know if i can take my AR-15, .44 , .45 , 9x18 mak and my shotgun up to the range so if anyone can help me out.

Handguns alone = not legal. You will need a parent, grandparent, guardian or adult with expressed consent with you. If you do take a handgun to the range alone, and are caught it will be forfeited.

Long guns, well.. I'm not quite sure if the term "firearm" in this segment also includes long guns. It definitely covers handguns either way.

Quote:
18 Pa.C.S. § 6110.1: Possession of firearm by minor
(a) Firearm.--Except as provided in subsection (b), a person under 18 years of age shall not possess or transport a firearm anywhere in this Commonwealth.
(b) Exception.--Subsection (a) shall not apply to a person under 18 years of age:
(1) who is under the supervision of a parent, grandparent, legal guardian or an adult acting with the expressed consent of the minor's custodial parent or legal guardian and the minor is engaged in lawful activity, including safety training, lawful target shooting, engaging in an organized competition involving the use of a firearm or the firearm is unloaded and the minor is transporting it for a lawful purpose; or
(2) who is lawfully hunting or trapping in accordance with 34 Pa.C.S. (relating to game).

(c) Responsibility of adult.--Any person who knowingly and intentionally delivers or provides to the minor a firearm in violation of subsection (a) commits a felony of the third degree.
(d) Forfeiture.--Any firearm in the possession of a person under 18 years of age in violation of this section shall be promptly seized by the arresting law enforcement officer and upon conviction or adjudication of delinquency shall be forfeited or, if stolen, returned to the lawful owner.

I don't know anything about the laws, but I've got to say you must have some very cool parents to be owning that much firepower at your age :-) See if you can get in good with the Sheriff and see what he can suggest. Enjoy your trigger time!

Why not just read the law.
Asking police or sheriff questions about gun laws, will get you wrong answers.

ya the only problem with that is they are the ones who enforce the laws and when they pull me over see the guns and say "you know im gonna have to take those guns" and i say "well if u read the law it says i can transport them" they will say "i don't care what u read ur wrong" and its gonna get me in alot of trouble even though i was legal to take the gun that is if i am legal
u c the police don't care what i know they always think they are right

Where as if i ask the sheriff and he tells me im leagal to do that it carries a little more weight then if i just say i read i was legal to do this

THIS WHOLE THING IS IF I AM LEGAL TO TRANSPORT GUNS
