Default The weak "NEED" argument

As the STUPID "one gun every 30 days" proposal and "Assault Weapons Ban" renewal gain momentum, o statements I constantly hear from anti-gunners and even people who CLAIM to be pro-gun or gun owners are:
1) Nobody NEEDS to buy more than one gun a month.
2) Nobody NEEDS to have a gun capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Whenever I hear that first hand, I point out that nobody nobody NEEDS to have more than one home, NEEDS to have 4 cars, nobody NEEDS to have a 52" High Def TV, nobody NEEDS to have a gross of Hostess twinkies from Sam's Club, etc.
My liberal & marxist relatives and associates then fall back on the "Guns are dangerous" line. I then remind them how an uninsured drunk, armed with his car, killed my father when I was a kid.

My anti-minded friends always try to use this argument...its the most baseless argument out there...all anyone NEEDs is food, water, and air to breath, everything else is improvement of life.

Remember, never fall for this ploy, it's a loosing arguement. He who defines the argument, has the high ground. You're rihgt on track by shifting the arguement, who needs a car that can travel over 100 MPH, when maximum street speed (in PA) is 75. Who needs more than one car, who needs a TV or even a stove? Really drive the point home, and show it has nothign to do about need.

The next line is "they're dangerous", quickly and easily defused. show me a gun that bhas by its own accord gone off and injured or killed someone. I do mean it's own accord, no outside influences, like someone being unsafe, falling (even thought all modern firearms are drop safed).

They may pull out the old canard that the gun is more likely to kill you or someone you love. That has been heavily debunked, and show them.

The trick is don't just come back with sound bites, comeback with things that make them think for themselves, make them answer YOUR questions, and not yes or no things. If they are truely intelligent, they will see they've been fed a bunch of tripe, and see the light for themselves. never let yourself get tricked into arguing feelings, stick to facts, and even an honest liberal will have no choice but to conceed that gun control is about feelings and control.

We have gun shows, gun rallies and gun classes. Why not classes on dealing with the anti's? A class on how to talk and what to say. Have someone play the part of the anti so the students can have 'range' time talking to the anti with an instructor there to help.

Hey, what's wrong with the two houses. There's one for my wife and kids, and one for me.
