Exclamation NRA / SAS request for help in Western PA

I received my daily emails from various firearm groups, and one stood out more than the others.

Anyone know anything about Monica Douglas? According to the ILA/SAS emails, she's trying to unseat Levdansky, one of the most ardent anti-gunners in the Legislature.

From the email:

$2 for the 2nd

Monica Douglas Needs Your Help

Pro-Second Amendment candidate, Monica Douglas won her Primary write-in campaign. She now heads to the General election to face longtime anti-gun incumbent Representative David Levdansky, from the Monongahela Valley. Douglas, in a last minute effort, received nearly 1,000 signatures supporting her candidacy. However, Monica now needs the financial resources to win in November.

You can help in this effort by being a "$2 for the 2nd" donor. Our goal is to reach 50,000 gun owners from across the state to donate two dollars to help preserve the Second Amendment.

Why support Monica? Her opponent, Representative David Levdansky has become the poster child for Cease Fire Pennsylvania, the most outspoken anti-gun group in Pennsylvania---and the spokesman for the anti-gun Philadelphia Legislative Caucus.

Earlier this year when the gun debate raged in Harrisburg, Levdansky stood on the Capitol steps as the keynote speaker at a rally with Philadelphia legislators calling for "gun control measures". In fact, the Philadelphia Daily News recently reported that Levdansky:

"stood up to withering questioning and attacks from the National Rifle Association and its surrogates in the House to strike a blow for gun-regulation sanity."

After the latest gun control scheme was defeated this past April in Harrisburg, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported:

"Levdansky and others suggested that, going forward, gun-control advocates needed to take a page out the NRA's playbook: amass an army of volunteers and supporters across the state."

Levdansky tells constituents that he "believes our Constitution grants the right to bear arms" and yet his voting record and statements throughout his career show a disdain for individual liberty. As an example, at a Game and Fish Committee hearing in 1986 in Clarion, PA, Levdansky said, "insofar as the constitutional question of the right to keep and bear arms is concerned, I think that that argument is rather hollow and shallow . . . At best, I think that the right to bear arms argument is nothing more than rightwing, ideological rhetoric and ought to be dismissed as such". His statements and voting record reveal his true beliefs and his position on these issues cannot be trusted.

Now it's time to send a message!! By joining together we can send a message to Harrisburg that the ongoing attacks against the Second Amendment have gone too far!!! It's time we stood up against the withering innuendo and attacks on the Second Amendment by Levdansky. Years ago, a Levdansky mailer to female constituents claimed that 'NRA' stands for 'No Rational Argument' but this election we can show him that it really means 'Not Reelected Again'.

Levdansky 'arrogantly' claims he is untouchable in his district! This is the election that gun owners can and must remove the voice of the anti-gun agenda in Harrisburg. Please be a "$2 for the 2nd" contributor today. All donations should be sent to:

If you would like to volunteer please contact the campaign at 412-551-4891 or by email at mdouglas@monicadouglas.com.

Please ask your friends and families to participate as well.

Remember, together we can make the difference!

I know I don't live in that part of the state, but the gal seems to have some chops to her. I'm in for sending a couple of bucks to help out, and I'm usually not that much on "donating" to campaigns.

After the crap that Nutty Nutter has been pulling lately, one more voice of sanity is sorely needed in Harrisburg.

Food for thought - I'd say send some if you can....

Address is near the bottom of the copy of the email.

I went to college at Clarion University with her in the early 1990's. I think I may have had a class or two with her? Maybe my fraternity had a mixer with the sorority she was in?? College seems like such a blur! I can't say we were friends by any means, however I did check out her web site. It appears she is pro gun and the NRA is supporting her. Representative David Levdansky seems like a real anti-gun tool? She is not in my district but I forwarded this to my family members who do to vote for her, I'm donating as well.

I gave Monica Douglas a couple of days walking for her election run against Anti-Gun Levdansky back in 2002 where she received 42% as an unknown with no real financial support from anyone. I intend to give Monica many days of my time this fall getting her elected to office.

ANTI- GUN Rep Dave Levdansky recently introduced his poorly written lost and stolen firearm amendment that was overwhelming defeated in the house.

ANTI- GUN Rep like Dave Levdansky has GOT to GO!

THANK YOU

NoHackrLtd +1 & CHAUKA +1

For your donations helping to remove one of the AG Reps.

If WE gun owners can remove a long time "so called" sportsmen / hunter AG Rep like Dave Levdansky it will send a message to ALL Harrisburg AG politicians that they could be next on our list to be removed from office for voting Against our Firearm Rights.

AG Rep Levdansky has had a long history of supporting ANTI- GUN legislation Please see attached flier for listing on AG bills supported by him, also read Levdansky quote about the right to keep and bear arms it show his true feelings.............

Issues Report Gun Control, the Constitution & Rep. Dave Levdansky.

Well I am on the other side of the state in Reading but anytime I can help a pro-gun politician get into office I want to as much as I can. Anyone know how else I can help besides donating money?

Thanks,
Anthony

I contacted Kim Stolfer, who then contacted Monica Douglas with your question and gracious offer to help out. There is a plan being formulated right now thanks to your question.

One part is to have gun owners all over the state take the battle to editorial pages to illustrate Levdansky’s philosophical corruption in all the news papers in his district. (We would supply all the contact info along with ideas to include in letters) Another part is to have gun owners help out by writting templates letters to the editor (for one thing) that we can use to have constituents in the district send in to these media outlets. We will also have phone lists that gun owners can use on weekends to call as we get closer to the election and send out postcards on her behalf.

There is lots of work for volunteers from anywhere in the state that can be done thanks to technlogy to send a message to the rest of ANTI-GUN elected Reps, that they can be held accountable.

Anyone interested in helping take out career ANTI-GUN politician that has voted to restrict your firearm rights

Please send me a PM with your name and email address along with a phone number and I will forward it over to Kim Stolfer for follow up.

Or you can send Kim Stolfer directly an email activist@fyi.net, just note something in message header that you want to help Monica Douglas or it may get lost in the clutter of hundreds of emails that Kim receives every day.
