Default convited felons can be mayors

From WGAL website
http://www.wgal.com/news/16366326/detail.html

WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. -- A York County mayor has been removed from office after information surfaced about his criminal past.

York County District Attorney Stan Reber said Wrightsville Mayor Stephen Rambler's 1996 convictions for extortion and lying disqualify him from holding public office in Pennsylvania.

Reber argued to a Common Pleas court judge on Wednesday that Rambler should not be in office.

"Mayor Rambler is out of office. He has been evicted if you will. He's been removed from office and I intend to see he stays out," said Reber.

The former mayor said he's not going anywhere.

"I plan to appeal. My attorney will be appealing. I plan to continue as mayor of Wrightsville. The people have voted me the mayor of Wrightsville. That's my constitutional right to appeal. Due process that's where we're going," said Rambler.

Maybe he didn't read title 18 close enough to see that when you are convicted of a felony then you are forever BARRED from holding public office, just like firearms, I fail to see where he honestly thinks he has any chance to win this....

In the end, it almost *helped* his political career since his constituents could now "relate" to him.

The powers of rationalization are endless.

Perhaps he can run foroffice in Philly , he would fit in with the other incompetents.

We in Philly vote early and often and the deceased can register and vote .
