While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: Issues with a rally this coming June in Erie.
Anyone consider not paying the fine instead of filing an appeal?

Re: Issues with a rally this coming June in Erie.
Look, I'm not handling this fiasco, but IN GENERAL, simply refusing to pay a fine is a poor choice.
They'll send a constable, you'll go someplace where you'd prefer not to go, at a time that's inconvenient, and you'll meet people who you could have got along just fine without ever meeting.
Either appeal and do what's required for an appeal, or just pay the fine. If you start to compare genitals with the criminal justice system, you'll come up short. They'll win. To stand a chance of beating them, you have to play by their rules.
I said before, multiple times, you need to have standing to challenge a criminal statute, and the courts are not fond of granting standing to someone who "might be" arrested. The injunction thing never had a chance.
Now these guys have standing, because they were individually cited. They can pay the couple hundred bucks and call it a day, or they can pursue a challenge through the appellate courts. Playing Bartleby the Scrivener and preferring not to pay the fine is not a smart option.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Issues with a rally this coming June in Erie.
I realize my post was extreme, but it shouldn't be.
Playing by their rules always seems to involve running out the clock and hoping you run out of money and interest along the way.
