Default Rally for Gun Control In Philadelphia

Just found out about this, to forgive the short notice, but it looks like there will be a rally at 11:00 at City Hall in Philadelphia calling for ending of statewide preemption in Pennsylvania. If anyone has time to head over there at lunch, maybe run a makeshift sign off on a laser printer or something

Philadelphia is going to keep pushing this bullshit until they get some traction, and for the sake of those of us who live in or near Philadelphia, we have to stop them. They are hoping that eventually, folks in the rest of the state will get tired of this, and agree to let Philadelphia pass its own gun laws. If they are allowed to do that, honest gun owners will be going to jail. Guaranteed.

Or a lot of honest gun owners will move away and leave it to revert to a complete cesspool. Not good.

The fools can push for whatever they wish. Let's all keep up the pressure in Harrisburg to ignore grandstanding stupidity.

There are lots of good people here and we need all your support.

The article says the rally took place after the hearing.

Anyone know how the hearing went?

Well, if they win this arguement for "state created danger" does that leave the door open to the arguement that they created a gun free zone and also created a danger?"

If I remember right, the Commonwealth Court basically told the city (between the lines) that they were toast and their next station on their wild ride would be petition for allocatur to PA Supreme Court. As the court recently ruled on basically the same question not even 10 years ago (if I remember right) I think the city is pretty much done. But who knows, the reasons we have judges and courts is it's hard to predict for certain how these things will be resolved (if we knew for sure we wouldn't need a judge -- everybody would just know and go away).

An opinion hasn't been issued yet (as far as I know) but based on the questions the judges asked, that's how the wind blows.
