From my understanding, unless you have a US Citizenship or legal alient/PA resident status then no. You can pick out a fire arm you like, pay for it, and have it shipped to canada to an FFL in canada who is willing to work with you on the paperwork. I am not sure about the export restrictions between USA/canada on weapons.

Wait for a lawyer and FFL to jump on the thread but it may be more hassle then a lot of FFLs are willing to go through for a sale.

I think that Penguin basically has it right. I am a Canadian citizen here and I know that I couldn't purchase a handgun until I had my green card. Once I learned that I didn't even try to purchase a long gun.

If it's legal in canada, depending on canadian laws he can either drive across the border with it unloaded or have it shipped to canadian equivalent of an FFL.
All canadian magazine restrictions and prohibited weapons restrictions apply.

ok from what little I recall on this subject I think this is how its going to go....

first the canadian has to make sure the pistol hes looking at is not on the banned or restricted list.

if thats a go then he finds a dealer in Canada that will accept the firearm.

the US dealer has to do an export form for BATF and the weapon will go to a bonded warehouse in Canada.

once it clears customs there it goes to the Canadian dealer and they complete the forms needed for purchace.

Anything you wanted to buy here If I where you I would go to Marstar and buy
If I could I would do that and then bring it here, Prices on the whole are lower and you wonthave all the hassles of import export.

You can technically buy and pay here but the seller has to ship to your Canadian dealer (store/licenced club)

There is not much you can get Here that you cant get there at about the same price and there is a lot you could get there we cant get here...

By the way Salut de Frenchy in PA (Originally from Montreal)

You mean things like SBRs from pistols with no additional paperwork, sawed off shotguns etc?

more weapon types may be allowed with less hassle but try getting a beta mag legally.

From what you're saying, you are a "non-immigrant alien." That being the case, no you can't buy a gun in PA. You can't possess a gun in the USA at all(18 USC section 922(g)(5)(B)) unless you were admitted for the purpose of hunting or you have a valid hunting license issued in the USA (18 USC section 922(y)(2)(A)) or you fall into certain foreign offical representative status.

You can have it in Canada if you need it in a sporting event. Mind you, what you can t buy in Canada, you could'nt import anyways to its a moot point.

Now lets say he wanted a 1911 at average $500 here, (about as low as you will find it) then there would be the transfer fee $40, carrier, $50, the store there will want a profit unless he is a good client, Paperwork in Canada for the import of this gun, and the list goes on...

http://www.marstar.ca/gf-norinco/index-hg-1911A1.shtm $325 and no we cant get those here

The price range there is about what you would expect here or less. o why go through the hassles of getting it here, even in parts like getting a 32 rd mag for a Glock would be illegal in Canada, so you might as well not think about it.
