Mossberg cruiser 500
Is it transferred as a long gun or a hand gun or aow. It seems to me the ATF (and perhaps local law enforcement) had a special rule for it as it has no stock only a pistol grip. Does anyone know? Thank you.

Re: Mossberg cruiser 500
It is transferred as "other firearm". It is not a long gun because it lacks a stock, and it's over the dimensions for it to be a AOW or SBS - that makes it an "other firearm".
Which means you must be 21yo to have a FFL transfer one to you.Last edited by knight0334; December 20th, 2011 at 10:28 PM.

Re: Mossberg cruiser 500
How I described above is federal law on Pistol Grip Only shotguns. They aren't a long gun under federal law. Only long guns with shoulder stocks can be transferred from a FFL to a person under 21yo(but older than 18yo).
PA makes no additional requirement on the transfer of pistol grip only shotguns that exceed "firearm" dimensions. If the PGO shotgun has a barrel less than 18" and/or an overall length less than 26" then it is a "firearm" under PA law, which then requires the PSP record of sale form to be filled out.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: Mossberg cruiser 500
Curious: since its not a long gun, could I transport it in my vehicle loaded with my LTCF?

Re: Mossberg cruiser 500
My understanding (I've been wrong many times before and could possibly be now) is that the AR style pistols and AK47 draco pistol is covered under the LTCF because they are recognized as pistols.
But really. I would like to know if I can transport that shotgun loaded in my vehicle. Could be very helpful to know.Practicing free speech outside of the designated free speech zones.
