Yep that makes perfect sense......to a beauracrat.
I'm acculy thinking about enlisting and that was the first thing that struck me about that.

Many kids who are 18 are still "brains full of mush" and quite frankly arent mature enough!

As I've said in the past however, military personel of ANY age SHOULD be able to carry. They've got training and in most cases the added maturity to make life and death decisions.
I agree. I would like to even with out military trainging be able to purches a Handgun. So i can Practice and then when I can get a LTCF I would know that if the threat manafested i would be able to hit and nutrlize that threat without too much fear of colleatral damange.

A minor can buy any other tool. A firearm is just another tool.
It is ridiculous that you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun. Many of the people who fought in the revolutionary war and every war since then were under 21.

What happens at 21? Are you magically transformed into jeff Cooper?
At age 20 and 364 days you are incapable of handling a handgun but the next day you are capable?

If you think you have the right not to be offended. I suggest you promptly purchase a toe attachment and a twelve gauge. One time use is all that is necessary.

What I never understood is that at 18 you can buy an AK, but if you want a pistol or revolver, you have to be 21...

Somehow that never sat right with me...
