Default Will the recently defeated gun legislation be re-introduced as a rider?

Now that the three gun bills have been defeated as stand-alone legislation, what are the chances that they will reappear as amendments to unrelated bills?

If this is likely, which bills would they likely be attached to?

Will they be used as a "poison pill" to kill all manner of good legislation until the pro-gun forces have no choice but to vote them in?

It's always possible, as far as I know anything can be attached as an amendment to another bill. I don't however think it is likely.

I ask because Dwight Evans (I think it was him) was quoted in today's Metro (Septa's daily paper) as saying that this is exactly what they intend to do.

Worse yet, amendments bypass the committee vote.

Then I guess the battle is on, but obviously both sides can play that game.

What we are seeing now is what is commonly referred to as "desperation".

It doesn't mean we should sit back and relax, if anything we need to work harder. But it is always good to keep things in perspective: Gun control is struggling in Pennsylvania.

Well said !!

We have them on the run, but unless we engage in pursuit and finish the job, they will regroup and try again.

I hope everyone takes the time to read Dan's latest Alert,
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/alerts-13...1-21-07-a.html

reread the analysis on HB 1744,
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/pennsylva...-nov-14-a.html

and go to work on killing it.

Although HB 1744 was slowed down because of concerns expressed by ACSL and PSA, there is a danger it could be brought up for action in the near future.

It's time to smack down Fast Eddy once more!
