The difference between you and the typical straw purchaser are this. You more than likely live in a low crime area, have a job, are not a known crack abuser, have several firearms. A five minute interview with your "Holy shit, I have so many guns around the house in different places" is a little different than Nancy Citizen who lives in a motel, frequents crack houses, and has no idea what kind of firearm was even "stolen" from her. I don't agree with the legislation, but said I understand the thinking behind it. I do disagree that you as an honest citizen and firearm owner will be wrongfully prosecuted. I don't ever want any anti legislation to go through, because a foot in the door is just the beginning. But, I have to say that I agree to disagree with you on your last point.

Ah, but see, therein lies the rub, the difference between me and Nancy Citizen is that her history and story would totally prompt an investigatuion into a Straw Purchase, whereas mine would not. The tools are already in place to get Nancy Citizen on her crimes.

Also the problem is that while you may think because you have a job and many guns that you are not going to be investigated and charged. But how many times have we seen on this board legal, job holding, law abiding, citizen gun owners harassed and even charged for crimes they didn't even commit?!?! You don't think that if the cop coming to your door investigating a murder with your gun is going to take your word that you didn't know it was stolen? Tell it to the jury..."So you had a $600 firearm, capable of killing another individual, in your house, not locked up, you didn't even know it was missing and you call yourself a responsible gun owner?" Remember, not all your peers are gun owners. The prosecution can make your oversights look really terrible to sheeple.
