    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    State Rep. Keith McCall
    D-Carbon

Speaker McCall calls House of Representatives back into voting session

HARRISBURG, Nov. 10 – House Speaker Keith R. McCall, D-Carbon, today announced that he is calling the Pennsylvania House of Representatives back into voting session on Monday, Nov. 15.

"While the Senate has flatly refused to return to session to address legislation passed by the House that awaits their action, after speaking to many House members who are concerned about key issues such as pension reform, I’ve decided to bring the House back for voting session Monday," McCall said. "We anticipate debate on multiple pieces of legislation sent to us by the Senate in an effort to get many of those bills passed and sent on to the governor to be signed into law."

Debate is expected to begin at 1 p.m. on Monday.

    Well I'll be...

Looks like we still need to push:

    - Eachus to move HB1926 out of the Rules committee
    - McCall to schedule a vote on HB1926
    - All of our reps to vote in favor of this legislation

Now that we have a date we need to focus on those pro gun Democrats even more. This is key to getting this out of the committee and on the floor. I am quoting Whitefeather's info for reference.

If it does get to Fast Eddy's desk do you think he will sign this? Would it be a better strategy to stall it until Corbett takes office or is that not possible?

Why wait when we have legislation that could become law now? If signed, then we can focus on even more stuff next year when Corbett is in office.

To answer your question, Rendell could veto this, but if he does he's also vetoing a bill which fixes some provisions in Megan's Law as well. No governor, even a lame duck, wants to be seen as the guy who vetoed Megan's Law, especially one who has dreams of higher office.

I think that you give the fat guy too much credit. A chance to take a swipe at the pro-2A community on the way out the door may just be too much for him to pass up.

    Are you kidding?

Its taken six long years to get this bill this far, there is NO guaranty that it will pass any easier next session unless there is a total re shuffling in who holds committee chairmen for both the minority and majority parties.

A second source that it will be a voting day!

Your persistence in contacting legislators has paid off. The House of Representatives will be voting Monday, November 15—Call your Representative TODAY and make sure they vote HB 1196—in favor of a one year extension of the sprinkler mandate.

November 15 is scheduled to be the House’s only voting day for the remainder of 2010. HB 1196 only needs a concurrence vote in the House. It is critical that you get your state representative to push their leaders and vote in support of HB 1196.
