Default A few useful PA Legislative tools...

A few useful tools if you find time to use them and don't mind doing all that reading online:

::No longer or not currently valid, see replacement below::
Searchable index of Pennsylvania state law (this has been posted here before):
http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...cons_index.cfm

::Edited to update::
The above link has been down for ages...please use the following substitute which is, unfortunately, less user-friendly than the original site (the link itself comes directly from the legis.state.pa.us site):
http://government.westlaw.com/linked...sp?SP=pac-1000

And one of my new favorites, a list to subscribe to to get updates on all activity in each daily sesson of the General Assembly OR (on the right) a way to get updates on specific bills (up to 10):
http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/.../subscribe.cfm

Enjoy!

Thank you very much.
I bookmarked the first one and subscribed to the second one.
I have to share the points with others before I can give you another, but I'm sure you'll get a few for this.

I just hope people use it really, but rep points are always nice. It's damn hard to keep on top of this stuff, but those tools make it much easier IMHO. I really like being able to subscribe to updates about specific bills too...very cool feature.

Some would say, it's all about staying informed.

I too find the email notification a plus.

Another good thing to check periodically is all of the Calendars and Schedules you find by clicking the Sessions tab. These are found under headers for House and Senate. One of my favorites is the House Committee Meeting Schedule, where I can keep track of my favorite Committee (Judiciary) and see what they've scheduled for my favorite bills or public hearings.

And by the way... For anyone interested in subscribing to the daily activity e-mails, Roy Jackson and I have been taking turns (two week stints) reviewing them and reporting any new bills introduced to the forum. We'd welcome anyone that wanted to join in.
