right on the money.

when it comes to protecting your rights, there is probably no more important position than supreme court justice (either state or national). these are the people who are tasked with making government abide by the constitution. often they do a very poor job of it.

but, at least on the state level, we have a direct hand in who sits on the supreme court...and we can vote for people who will actually do the job.

nineseven has given a nice summary of which candidates seem most likely to actually enforce the constitution. i, for one, will certainly be voting for those people.

in other races: in pittsburgh, remember that luke ravenstahl is a member of boomberg's coalitition of traitorous mayors (hehe...actually coalition of anti-gun mayors). desantis, on the other hand, well...isn't. (also, imho, we need to break up the democratic machine in pittsburgh....time for some fresh blood...the d-machine has run this city into the ground--time for a change.)

another important race in allegheny county is the sherrif's race. check out the allegheny county sub-forum for more on that. i''m voting for kress, personally.

I believe the FOAC website has a decent voting guide if you don't know anything about who to vote for...
yup, and the county sherif positions are important to us also.

AND the way thing are going with all of these municipalities banning shooting,in some areas people are having a hard time target shooting ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY. so the outcome of a local election may also affect you more than you think.

got to go now, eat my lunch and get back to working the polls

I'm in the Mayfair section of Philly. Where can I go to research the candidates in my district? Are the judges voted on a city-wide/Statewide basis, or are the elections more local?

The judges are for the Superior and the Supreme court (and retention), so it's a statewide basis, but there should also be local election seats for you to vote on. At this point, as far as gun rights, the previously mentioned FOAC voting guide for your district is about as good as you're going to get (or the NRA guide that's been posted here as well).
