Default Re: Infighting threatens imminent avalanche of gun control in PA

Can someone tell me what the point of all this is other than to create MORE infighting???

Just another example of why we will eventually lose this fight... Whether it be paranoia or just plain stubborness, we can never truly unite in order to fight for the restoration of our rights... So sad...

It also seems that PA in particular has a major problem building an organization that can grow big enough to actually have influence...

Well, disagreement is inevitable, Drew, but the problem is there are too many folks who want to turn this into circular firing squad. My appeal, essentially, is to remember that we're all on the same side. We may disagree with this group, or that group, over certain things, get frustrated, feel double crossed... it's bound to happen. But we can't get to the point where we attribute to malice what is either a difference of opinion or, to be honest, stupidity, which there is a lot of out there.

The problem I have with folks like Andy, is that they are more interested in flinging pooh around at other activists and groups than they are at picking up the ball and moving it forward.

We'll lose if you let it.

Now here's the problem I see with all organizations and why I hope to change this. You see the organizations heads at the forefront. Where are the people?

Now I'm not saying anything against anyone, I love the work Harry and Kim and Everyone else has done. Without them we'd be in extremely bad shape.

I look at history though, I look at what got us to not building a refinery in 30 years, and gas prices as a recent example. Look at the "Tree Huggers" there wasn't such a one man show behind it all, but a mass of people who opposed something and they got it locked.

I also understand that when it's a "one man show" not saying it's a one man show but the main players are few, that it's easy to unravel someones hard work. So I haven't expressly dealt with any of the high issues while I've traveled into the local scenes when I can and got some stuff cleared up.

PA is also a very unique place, a lot of people have their own niche's while working for a common goal. So a number of organizations is a good thing. But the heads of all organizations should communicate with each other and work together no matter the differences to work for the overall common goal of getting our rights understood as rights and not privileges.

I dunno, maybe I'm dreaming, but this could become a reality and we can get our rights back and turn this whole country back around right. But we need to start with our own states and work our way back up.
