Trijicon RX30 Reflex
Has anyone had any experience with the Trijicon RX30 reflex?
I'm looking for an optic for a home defense/CQB M4 carbine (6.5MOA dot is, well, i can live with it since this rifle will probably never see a target more than 100yards out - my local range is only that long anyway).
Before I begin, I know a bunch of you may say "get an Eotech", but they're out of the running for this application. I have nothing bad to say about them, but none of them have a constant-on battery life I'm comfortable with with, and I sure don't want to tell a burgler "hang on a sec while I @#$% with my optic..."
My first choice would be an Aimpoint CompM4, but it's just to damn expensive for my budget.
If I were to get an Aimpoint I would get a CompM3 from LaRue Tactical with their offset tactical mount. The battery will last pretty damn long (longer than the CompM2 that's only $60 cheaper, hence the M3 being my choice) it's rugged, relyable, it's an Aimpoint.
This set up is still $150 bucks more than the RX30 though, and Trijicon is a relyable name as well. What I want to know is:
Has Trijicon really addressed the wash out issue the older reflexes were known for (at least for any practical application - not woried if it'll wash out if i'm pressed right up against a wall with a Tactical light, or some lighting situation were I couldn't just as well use the BUIS)?
Will the flat top mount (colt style thumb screws) co-witness with my back up iron sights, or do I need the A.R.M.S. mount?
Is the 6.5MOA dot REALLY that big?
Or should I just eat the $150 extra bucks and get the Aimpoint?
Any opinions would be much appreciated.
