Default NcStar Scope

I'm looking into buying a new scope for my Winchester Model 70 308 Varmint rifle. The scope is the NcStar Mark III Series 10-40X50 with the range finder and green illumination. Has anyone used this scope or any of the NcStar scopes?

I have used an NC star scope on an SKS....it was very poor. Very dark, wouldn't hold zero, cheaply made, etc <insert additional derogatory comments here>. Some guys claim they had good luck with NC's better lines....I won't try them again.

If it was me and I was looking for the cheapest scope I could find (which you seem to be) I would opt for something with Tasco, Bushnell or Simmons written on it. I think you would find yourself being much happier going that route too.

Holleta, Thanks for the reply. It's not a cheap scope I'm looking for. I'm the proud owner of numerous Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender and other high end scopes. I haven't even checked the cost of any NcStar scopes, but it appears by your reply that they are cheap and I will not buy one. I just liked the appearance of the retical and was inquiring as to there reliability.
