Default Re: Anyone with a laser on their j-frame?

My own experience with CT Lasergrips is that every J-Frame BUG should have these. On something like a Glock19, it is up to the end user... the design for these is sort of inelegant, it increases an already large grip size and the laser has no lockout. If this is a carry gun or nightstand gun only this is not really an issue, but for range training and drills it can be counter-productive.

Where the CT laser really shines is on the Smith & Wesson M&P series pistols. The laser unit replaces one of the replaceable backstraps as a whole and has an easy to use lockout switch.

I would recommend night sights in addition to the CT laser; treat them sort of as co-witnessed optics on an AR. If your red dot goes down, you have your irons right there. On your pistol, if your laser goes down, you have your night sights right there.

WOW! me and you are are in total agreement tonight.

I can't wait to put them on a snubby.

As for the m&p model. I have never seen such an elegant laser for an automatic. The laser fits seamlessly into the backstrap, and activates with the slightest grip pressure.

My buddy got one of these, and the first time I held it I almost got wood. I've never seen such a sleek setup on an automatic.

I honestly might get a M&P instead of a XD just for that reason.

I recently attended a carbine/pistol class were we did some night fire, and we performed a transition technique where we tucked the inop carbine under our support arm to supply illumination from the weaponlight while we drew and engaged with our pistol strong hand. I was shooting my M&P45 and it is equipped with a CT laser... afterwards I checked the target and all hits were in the black - this is remarkable at night, while moving, and with one hand. The reason is the laser. I plan on picking up one of the 5" M&P 9mm's when they are available and you can be sure it will be laser-equipped.

I ordered the LG-405. I couldnt find anyone who stocked the lasermax to look at it up close. It should be in on Thursday or Friday. I will post what I think of it.

I have had one on my hammerless .38 Smith for years. I love it. It's dead on accurate and the company has given me 100% service satisfaction. Much easier to see where you're aiming in a low light situation and for those of us that don't get to practice much, gives a little self-confidence boost as well.
