I have often warned folks about those TFO's breaking. I also don't like how long the sights are for the pistol.
To me, installing sights is the only "drawback" I've noticed with the XD series. I personally would have paid someone to install the TFO's versus buying a sight pusher that you will only use a handful of times. To me it's more cost effective to pay a gunshop that already has the tools.

Im sure ill use it a couple more times, I do plan on getting a XD40 SC yet so right there would be 50 bucks if I paid some one to put them on since they get 25 bucks here to put sights on, and my friend has 2 XDs that now since I have the tool Im purty sure that he'll get sights for on his so with 4 sets getting put on that pays for the tool and I have it to adjust them at any time now.

I put meprolight night sights on my XD sub-compact with a brass punch and hammer in a padded vice. The front was easy for me and the rear sight was a Bitch to get off. But overall not a horrible experience. They are a really nice sight set.

If you ever want to sell your sight tool let me know. You do have to be a little extra careful with the TFO’s .

I dont plan on ever getting rid of it, nice little tool to have around, it was $100 bucks to buy new, concidering I screwed up 2 sets of TFOs at 90 bucks a pair I ate 180 bucks so buying the tool is a lot better idea, or you could pay a shop to do them for you, but I like to do things myself. even if I screw things up thats how you learn by doing things.

Looks like I must be missing something in my store.
If I sell the sights I install them free. I have all the tools except this one. Guess I will buy one now Thanks. |

no shop in there right mind would put sights on an XD for free, getting the stock ones out are a pain in the A$$. I thought when I had to cut mine out I was nuts, but here I found out im not the only one to do that.

Let us know when you get it in. I still need tritiums on my XD45C and XD9SC. I definitely want them on before Center Axis Relock class so I can start getting used to them and how they hold up (1,000 rounds in 2 days isn't a bad durability test).
