This is clearly not accurate when speaking about the mall itself, and as much as many don't like it, property owners are permitted to set whatever policies they wish. Doing so is not "violating someone's right" to carry a gun, as the right as recognized by the Constitution applies to government infringement, and the government isn't the entity that owns and operates the mall.
Greg, we fully understand what you are saying. the issue we have is that a POLICY was cited, but said POLICY was not produced for Validation.

this is the Exact same situation that happened to me with Gander Mtn. that was easily corrected.

And I understand what you are trying to accomplish as well. I was simply commenting on the suggestion that the letter be sent to the mall rather than BPS, as well as the larger point that even though there seems to be a conflict in policy, because of the circumstances at the location (attached to a mall), the corporate policy may not be able to be applied practically because of landlord/tenant constraints.

I'm not saying in any way that you should not seek clarification, just that this particular situation may have some unique factors which may complicate things just a bit.

Who knows, they may clarify that the mall allows BPS to set it's own corporate policy. I'm hoping that in my response that they will clarify both corporate, and if applicable if mall policy supersedes BPS policy in this instance.

If they clarify that and state that the mall sets the rules then I will act accordingly.

Of course the mall sets the rules. BPS is a tenant.

UPDATE!!!!!

Just spoke with Tim Toth, the Operations Manager of Bass Pro Shops Harrisburg PA.

OPEN CARRY IS ALLOWED IN ALL BASS PRO SHOPS WHERE ALLOWED BY STATE LAW.

He stated that not all the employees knew the policy and that will be corrected this week at thier store meeting.

I should be getting a phone call from Bass Pro Corp. in the coming days to help get a clarified Policy as well as Signage much like Gander Mountains.

ETA:

OPEN CARRY IS A GO, REPEAT, OPEN CARRY IS A GO! OVER.

I'm just curious about any comments that may have been made by corporate in regard to the malls posted policy - specifically at this location, though I guess it's possible that other BPS are attached to malls to.

from the conversation i had with Tim, as long as you don't go into the mall through BPS you are good to go on OC/CC. the way he explained it is they have their own policy since they sell firearms that the mall has no bearing on.
