So Cramer's article essentially boils down to..
"Open carry is gay!" Wasn't he the same douche-bag who came out against "non hunting" rifles about a year or so ago???

i think you might be thinking of Jim Zumbo, but i'm sure there has been more than one "gun" writer to do that.

Nothing infuriates me more than gun owners that wish to impose restrictions on other gun owners. I shouldn’t be surprised that someone that feels OC is an inappropriate public display is also a homophobe. He probably believes in white supremacy too.
![]() My rights will be more secure without such idiots protecting them.

I don't judge an article by a synopsis from someone who hated that article. And I haven't subscribed to Shotgun News since the Internet made it irrelevant.
That being said, when did we gun folks develop a code of Political Correctness? Apparently, we must unthinkingly support open carry, gays, and Republicans (nothing wrong with supporting all 3, and in fact I do, but is UNTHINKING support required?). Not sure about blacks and Muslims, do we have a mandatory "gun owner's viewpoint" on them yet? We are expected to castigate Ted Kennedy's corpse the day after he died, or we're weak. I need to see the "List of Acceptable Behavior From Gun People". Because I'm pretty sure that I'm going astray by forming my own opinions, issue by issue, based on the facts I know and the life I've led. The truth (as I see it) is that militant gays with public displays of affection will alienate people who were supportive of them in the abstract. And that parallel truth can shed light on the open carry situation, because the first impulse of open carry folks is to say "there's no law against it". Well, that could change, and for a lot of the sheep, that's the instinctive reaction, that if they're surprised that it's not already illegal, then it SHOULD be illegal. That's just human nature. That's the way I feel about people driving while texting, that if it's not explicitly illegal to do something so obviously reckless, then it should be illegal. You who know me are aware that I'm in favor of maximum gun rights for the law-abiding. I applaud people who expand my rights by intelligently pushing the envelope. Kudos to you. I believe that there's some old case law in PA that permits the regulation of CC as long as OC is left alone. But remember, in Philadelphia, OC requires an LTCF, and nobody has successfully challenged that, have they? We don't change reality by shunning anyone on our side of the Dodgeball line who fails to parrot only from the approved party line. If we just wish negative reactions to OC into the cornfield by closing our eyes and denying them, then we are making a tactical error by failing to anticipate and counteract those negative reactions. If we just pretend that nobody except police bullies and mall ninjas objects to OC, then we won't have any discussions about how to OC while minimizing those objections. In the absence of negative reactions, does it matter if I OC while wearing my baseball cap sideways, with my pants hanging mid-thigh, wearing a T-shirt that says "WHEN I WANT YOUR OPINION I'LL BEAT IT OUT OF YOU"? Is there any advantage to acting like we are ambassadors for gun owners when we OC? And are we permitted by our friends to hold such a discussion? In short, are we "allowed" to have that conversation about whether it's possible to damage our cause with some methods of OC?
