One word... priceless!!
A great educational piece on our rights and how to respond to LEOs who are "misinformed." The guy with the cellphone camera remained calm and clear-headed throughout the whole episode, which is something I'm not sure I'd be able to do. Thanks for posting the link to this video! Awesome! |

This makes me glad I went out and got a digital voice recorder last week. Haven't run into any confrontations with LEO's yet but from what I read here with OC its inevitable that some LEO with a chip on their shoulder will try to start something.

There is another side to it as well. You can use it to accurately recreate any *positive* encounters you have. I have had 2 positive encounters with LEOs that I felt would be poorly recreated by me only because the conversations were so long, and frankly, I suck at remembering convos accurately.

And NC is a gold star state for OCing, wow, lol.
So would this differ in PA and different? I presume without articulated suspicion a LEO can not ask for your LTCF or driver's license? Last edited by dlclarkii; October 21st, 2009 at 05:41 PM. |

It is exactly the same. A cop can't just pull you over and ask for your license because you're driving a car. The same applies to a LTCF--he can't just stop you and ask you for your LTCF because he sees that you are carrying a gun. Cops usually try to find some esoteric or outdated law to justify crushing your rights. Why do you think the traffic code is so strict without police always pulling people over? Hint: it's not because they're worried about driver safety.
