I think it all goes back to what you said before about the HANDGUN making you a "cop" in the eyes of the public. And I must say, for someone who "looks like a cop", I don't get much respect! LOL! RESPECT MY AUTHOR-I-TIE! (dammit!)

to add to the regular people wear tactical clothes too thing and to not look like a cop thing....my friends wear woolrich elite clothes-I will when i have enough money, but untill then, I oc wearing like band shirts-metal/hardcore- or like airsoft or movie shirts with blue jeans and shoes. I am currenly using a big clunky bianchi holster but hopefully my CQC holster will get here soon.

Well, since I am admittedly unsure about the whole "look like a cop" thing. I've decided that I should just ask (like EmptyMag did).
. . . Well, what do you all think, do I look like a cop? . . . . . . . . . . .

I dress 100% redneck, never really any looks when I OC. A few, not much... And I have a pony-tail to the small of my back.

SUN, 7/15/07 Sharon's Sub's, Mountain Top: Took the family out for Pizza only to find the pizza place closed (unscheduled) So we went to Sharons instead. No problems. Older gentleman came over to our booth while he was waiting for his take-out to talk to the kids. I was sitting in the booth with my strong side facing the aisle. I suspect he clearly saw my sidearm from the counter/line and may have even come over because of it. I don't know why, just my gut feeling. He was very nice and seemed like a real down to earth kind of guy. When I thanked him for stopping and chatting he smiled and patted me on my strong side shoulder as he turned to leave. Mr. Z's Grocery, Mtn Top. Since we were out and needed ice cream cones for our desert we stopped for some shopping. Attire: Ratty old OD green BDU shorts. Blue patterned henly t-shirt. Hikers, Glock23 in SERPA. Hey CQB: Called to see if you and yours wanted to accompany us out for food but there was no answer... Obviously you were already out OC'ing elsewhere

TUES 7/17/07
Taking walks with wife, two kids and two dogs regularly now. Tonight I OC'd all over Fairview Heights (older developement in Mtn Top) definately well-to-do part of town. Shorts, t-shirt and G23 in SERPA. No problems. Kids on bikes, other people walking, said hello to all of them. A couple waves from people on their porches, driveways as we passed. |
