Default How to choose a voice recorder?

Ok all. I just started my OC experience, besides SFNs pizza party, yesterday. I have a voice recorder on my work cell phone. The problem is that it is first a work cell phone, second it is clumsy to operate.

What are your make and model reccomendations for something that is easy to operate and will get the job done, if needed? Hopefully not needed.

I use the 3100.

Doesn't look like they make it now, though.

Make sure you get the VN-4100PC so you can easily dump recordings to a computer.

Yeah, you definitely want the "PC" model for that reason. ...I fixed my post. Link takes you to the PC model, I typo'd the model in the post.

Default Re: How to choose a voice recorder?

My solution was to have my ex-boss give me one that he couldn't figure out how to operate!

He had a Sansa C250 that he got off of some closeout site. There were no instructions. He couldn't get it to charge, and I'd been talking to him about voice recorders. He said that if I could get it to charge he'd give it to me. It charges through the USB communications cable. Turns out he was plugging it into the port on the USB speaker system he has hooked up to his office PC instead of directly to the PC. Apparently it wasn't passing along the voltage necessary to charge it. I was able to download [sketchy] instructions from Sansa's website.

It's a 2gig mp3 player with FM capability. The voice recording feature is pretty good quality and easy to enable. It's quite small and unobtrusive.

By the way, if anybody knows how to get it to sync with Windows Media Player or Winamp, I'd appreciate being told how. It crashes either of those programs as soon as it's plugged in. Fortunately, it works just fine adding music or copying voice recordings by treating it as a flash drive.

I have an Olympus...Buy.com or Google Shopping will give you the best prices on it.

It's a good thing to always have and never use...

I've had this exact model for almost a year now. One upgrade is to get a remote mic for it. Recording is much better, without the pocket noise.
