Default Re: I got kicked out of Lowes in Chambersburg.

I've OCd in the new Lowes on the West end of York without anyone even batting an eye. Two employees even helped me load my truck on two occasions while I was OCing a full sized .45 & no one said a word or looked at me out of the ordinary either time. Instead, they were extremely friendly and helpful.

Lowe's currently does, and will continue to abide by federal, state and local laws regarding firearms, and we do not prohibit customers from carrying firearms into our stores.

Our first and foremost concern is for the safety of our customers, however; we take all comments and concerns from our customers seriously. We are considerate of all customers, and will remain neutral regarding the right to carry firearms. We will respect federal, state and local laws regarding this.

If Lowe's can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to call 1-866-284-8989 or email execustservice@lowes.com. You may also contact us by mailing your correspondence to P.O. Box 1111, Mail Code CON8, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28659.

seems to me to be a brush off. they leave it open to say yes or no depending on the customer by remaining neutral.

Seems like they abide by Federal and State laws to me, meaning carry away.

Still sounds over-the-top. Just politely request for clarification on their official policy. Legality is irrelevant; they are not government and are well within their rights as property owners to allow or disallow firearms in the store. Respect for rights goes both ways.

I agree with this.

In my opinion, the letter would be better if the 3, 4, 5, and 8th paragraphs were removed. I think they have a bit of a confrontational tone that is less likely to get the response you are hoping for.

You might consider referencing the response that others have received indicating that they defer to state and local laws and recommend that they clarify this position to their employees so that patrons such as yourself are not ejected from stores where employees that are not familiar with the policy take matters into their own hands. You went to their store with every expectation that OC was permitted and the actions of their employees, at best, has wasted your time.

Whatever you choose to write, I applaud you for taking the time to write something.

I'm just here to say if you would ever need an OC buddy, I would be more than happy to make an apperance. I used to know a CSR that worked there,

I'll try to make a few calls for you tonite and see if she is still employeed there and what their view is on matters like this.
