Default Holster Opinions

ok i bought a Springfield 1911 a few months ago, i have been wanting a good OC holster..

i have decided on a serpa but which one? i know allot of you use the tactical level 2 which i have been looking at but i also like the CQC model...

i am wondering the difference other than the physical size of the holster..
pros
cons ??

If you have any interest in a leather thumb break holster, I can make them for 1911's.

thanks coyote.. i wouldnt mind a leather with a thumb break.... was looking at a few online but they are all in the $100.00 range.. i have recently lost my job and actually shoudlnt even worry about a holster but was looking at the CQC holster for $43 bucks...

always love the look and feel of leather though so that is an option !

She's a pleasure to work with, as well. She's been building me a whole setup, holster, mag pouch and belt, and from what I've seen so far, it looks great

I'll also be trying the Serpa soon, but I don't particularly trust plastic.

I'm going with a Serpa for the Para, if it ever gets built.

The Kimber MUST be on leather!!!!!!

Well go with your budget then, not much you can do if you lost your job. I have a serpa level 2, has adjustable belt loops and adjusts for cant. I like it, but it sticks out more from the body than a leather pancake holster, and I need a sturdier belt for it too.

As to BTA88- I need a dbl check on the XD45 mag measurements. Belt stuff should be here today, but I haven't seen any sign of UPS. The holster I made- I have been having OCD attacks over it and am considering making another/redoing that is more sturdy with the belt loop ( no extra charge, just my fussyness). I also ordered 1 3/4 belt stuff for myself, my pants loops are all max 1 3/4. Yours will be 2" as ordered.

Fingers, you need a leather holster for a kimber? Is a standard framed 1911, yes?

Yes, but I have something very specific in mind, not easy to find.

ok so is there much of a difference between the level 2 and the CQC ?

looks like the level 2 is aimed more toward pistol protection and the CQC is more of a minimal approach ... i liek the CQC because my 1911 is shiney and deserves to be ogled by the general public !!
