Default My first OC experience.

So, I picked a great place for my first OC...today is Police Memorial Day and I went to a service at a police station where about 40 uniformed LEOs were milling about getting ready to stand in line for the service. A bagpiper was there, a reverend and several other speakers.

I had a dress shirt and tie on...and was OCing my firearm in a Blackhawk SERPA Holster.

So maybe it was assumed that I "belonged" there, as there were some LEOs in street clothes as well.

Anyway, all went well, no questions. After all, if someone called in a "man with a gun", there were about 40 other men and women with guns in the open

And afterward I stopped by a gas station to fill up, still OCing. Paid at the pump and was not thirsty or hungry so did not need to go inside. Only there a few minutes and I don't think anyone even saw me, but it was somewhat crowded.

I guess I could have gone inside to just walk around, but there was no real reason to go in.

The comfort of OC is really great compared to CC (especialy while driving), but at this time I don't think I'll be OCing a lot, just wanted to give it a try in a "safe-from-scared-sheeple" surrounding

Good start. Yes, the comfort of OC is like none other, especially when compared to carrying IWB for the last 2 weeks for my babys doctor appointments. It's been a relief when I have a day to myself to go out and can carry the way that I want to, which is OC.

After I started OCing a little, I started to always carry in a serpa OWB, always when concealed. I'd rather have a cover garment on when it's 90 degrees out, than having to 'dig' for my firearm. Drawing's the same anyways, once you sweep your cover garment. In a week or two I'll be visiting Baltimore, I'll be sure to carry OWB there too (concealed, of course, to avoid being hassled).

Wow, you're gonna risk carrying at all in Communist Maryland? Yikes... what a pair you have man

Probably something you shouldn't be admitting to on a public forum though

I'm carrying there legally, though I'm still nervous about it... since they're pretty antigun.

Not true, WV accepts a PA LTCF.

Not carrying in MD on my LTCF anyways.
