I'm a tad confused with how it reads, as it seems some others are. Do you think you could retype a more thorough explanation of what went on at the walmart?

I'm clearly not SFN, but the way I read it is she ran into a neighbor who she doesn't get along with while she was in WalMart, who called the manager and the manager told her to disarm, she did so, then went back in to talk to him, cleared things up, and things are okay now and she can carry there.

Or something.

One suggestion I'd make moving forward is to be more polite than you've ever been in your life.

You have ruffled some feathers now and if people are going to want to mess with you, don't give them any reason to be right.

Well it sounds like the manager has his head on straight. He was respectful and polite, and I have no problem with that.

Sometimes the members of this forum seem to forget that property owner's rights supercede the rights of gun owners. A property owner has every right in the world to ask you to leave for what ever reason they see fit. Not saing that its right or that I agree its okay to ask her to leave for OC, but if we want respect for our rights, then why are we so quick to quash the rights of others?

What he said. It would appear the guy was actually reacting to a customer complaint, not the normal "Oh I got complaints" BS. It would have been great if he had gotten both sides of the story, then went back and admonished the complainer, but he is a store manager, not the 8th grade guidance counseler. From what I read he went beyond what most walmart managers would have done and just asked her to not OC it, leave it in the car, or leave because he got a complaint. He didn't have her surrounded by the blue vest response team. He didn't seem nasty. Why put out a call to have people harrass the guy, because whether or not that was the intent, that is how it is going to be taken up by some of the members.

OASN~ Remember, you are no longer just SFN who makes pastie jokes, you have been thrust into the spotlight and stood up and won. That makes you sort of an icon in these parts and unfortunately makes it important to be a bit more careful in what you post, as what may seem whimsical to you, may be taken literally or have more read into it by your supporters. Just sayin'....

I always cringe when I see someone start a thread with an invitation to call a third party and tell them off. I've seen this several times so nothing personal against SFN here. I just think it's a bad idea because people on the Internet who weren't there are likely to get things wrong. Also, thousands of people read these forums, and any random nut could call the Walmart manager and say something stupid. Worse, he could say that SFN suggested that he do so.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't help each other out by making calls when that can be helpful, but it's important to get all the facts before doing anything. People reading the OP and calling up to give the hapless manager an earful are not going to help us.
