That's the way I understand it... the provisions for carrying a firearm in a vehicle are very limited w/out an LTCF. The issue of a permit had not yet come up, if I remember right. Of course did have my LTCF, I just sure as hell wasn't going to show it to this guy.

When I informed the manager of the legality of OC w/out permit, I didn't take time to explain that it must me 'on foot' etc. Sorry for any confusion.

What he said.
BTW, Mark the Manager was quite manly getting his subordinate to call you.

If someone is OC'ing while in a vehicle inside the home depot, the manager will likely have other more pressing concerns than whether that form of OC is legal.

I may need to pay an OC visit tomorrow, to see Mark, and ask for an apology, as well as sharing some fliers with him.

P.S. I forgot to mention that corporate told me to tell Mark to reference document #1605 - for future reference.

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

The Home Depot Customer Care is in receipt of your email.

Our general policy is not to ban customers from carrying firearms on The
Home Depot property in those states having a concealed firearm law,
provided they are carrying the firearm in accordance with the applicable
laws.

If the firearm is not concealed in accordance with the carrying permit
(typically that means concealed and cannot be seen by members of the
public), it is up to the manager based on personal comfort level to
approach the individual directly and request them to leave the premises
or to contact local law enforcement for purposes of having the
individual removed.

We look forward to your continued patronage and assisting you with all
of your home improvement needs.

Regards,

Nayeem
Customer Care

SO................ Which is correct??? Document #1605 or what SoberByker was sent????

Was this ever pinned down?????

Need something definitive for the NOC LIST
... (NOC LIST - Private Businesses with 'NO OPEN CARRY' or 'NO CARRY AT ALL' Policies)

I'll try to look into this later this week, when I return from the midwest. (Visiting Oshkosh WI, for the air show, and will feel naked without my sidearm).

I haven't been in HD much since this incident, but I've OC'd once since then, with no comment.

Applicable law allows for open carry therefore general policy should allow it.

Rep incoming for following up.

Also, I hate it when managers say "my" store. Screw you, show me the lease with your signature.
