Default Re: OC Dinner - Larry's BBQ - Brodheadsville, Monroe Co.

The food at Larry's is real good, the place is clean & Larry is OC friendly. If you eat there once, you'll want to go back. I've been getting away from the chain restaurants & eating more at mom & pop places. I feel I get a better meal for the money.

I'd like to attend...but my employer may have something else in mind. I'll come if I can. I like the baby back ribs.

If those attending want, they can show up early & check out American Sport Shooting which is just up the road (RT209) to the north a mile or two. RFlynn would be happy to meet you if he has not already. He has a nice selection of holsters, belts, ammo, clothing & other stuff we gun people like in addition to handguns & scary black rifles. He's normally open till 7:00pm on weekdays.

Monroe Co. is in NEPA and is about an 1.5 hrs. away from you. It's located not far from the Mahoning Valley Interchange on the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike. Give Mapquest a look - starting point in York, ending point in Brodheadsville.

You're more than welcome to attend if you can make the trip.

I second that,
Larry's is one of my favorite haunts. As for Rflynn's shop, another favorite haunt. This shop is OC friendly too. You won't get a snotty comment from Rich about carrying openly. If you want to make a few points, bring Rich bananna nut muffins.

Got an address so we can GPS it and see how far we would have to go.

Touche! Well struck, sir.

But because the Poconos have become the landing zone for displaced NYC and NJ houligans, I wonder if it still counts as "the sticks".

Agreed. East Stroudsburg is becoming West Newark.
You actually get some of that element around Broadheadsville sometimes.

However,Larry would like to have us at his restaurant. If I'm not working that night I'll be there.

I often wonder at that myself. There are a few communities which are quickly becoming "the hood in the woods". It's getting crazy out here- I saw four possums in a lowrider do a drive-by on some squirrels shooting dice on a tree stump. DCNR is investigating.
