Small donation on its way to the Mtn Jack fund from the state of MO. We have to band together to stop this type of nonsense from the egotistic police everywhere.

Can someone provide a quick run-down of what happened? I don't feel like sorting through all the pages (not to mention claims and counter-claims) in that monster thread to see what the status of the case is. Why was he arrested? What's his side of the story? What's he been charged with? Etc.

Go on, read all the pages. It is quite interesting, some of the bantering amongst "like minded" folks.
Grab some popcorn and a sixer and be prepared to be entertained... You might even feel the need to contribute to the hysteria.

Well, if all of my cogent observations and rapier wit in the other thread will go unnoticed, might as well give you the quick skinny here.

Jack OC'ed a pistol and Bible at/near/in/on/under/over/around an Obama rally.

Some errant citizen became alarmed, presumably at the sight of the pistol, although Vegas is also laying odds that it could have been the Bible.

Local police, state police, Secret Service, and two contingents of Green Berets on leave from Afghanistan swooped down on our unlucky hero and arrested him because he was an American.

After being tortured in the SS van, said agents became bored again and released him on his own accord... at which point, since both Nature and the PSP abhor a vacuum, the latter decided to pick up the slack left by the SS. They reshackled our maligned man and took him downtown to headquarters, along with the usual suspects.

Some time later charges were officially made regarding intent-to-cast-aspersions-on-the-heir-apparent-to-the-POTUS, a new section of legislation recently passed the day after Jack's arrest so as to avoid PSP embarrassment and legal liability as to false arrest.

Strong evidence was gained on the "intent" portion of the aforementioned law by intensive gendarme 24-hour surveillance of all internet web sites and forums related to gun rights and ownership (and well, if you must have the truth, some other web sites normally visited during office hours in Harrisburg, but that's immaterial and irrelevant for the nonce)... including Google Image Search of satellite photos which determined that Jack was exactly 100 yards and 4 inches from the podium at which Obama was destined to speak... assuming of course, that the O man showed up for the rally at all.

So now we forum members here gather defense funds to help our stalwart comrade bribe his way out of the Bastille and away from the guillotine... until that day when justice returns to this great land of ours and he can have his rightful day in court... and hopefully "beat the rap" of that most heinous and treasonous of crimes (a gasp arises from the shocked audience)... "disorderly conduct"... an odd enough charge, considering Jack was neither in disorder nor out of conduct.

As a legal addendum, and strictly in mine own opinion, based upon much case study in the outhouses of Philadelphia...had they charged him with "disheveled conduct", they might have had a case.

But, like the rest of us, even LEOs are wise only after the fact in 20/20 hindsight.

Edited to add:
In case it is not obvious, the info above is a bit of "tongue in cheek", and although it's a pretty decent summary, should not be considered as factual. The 100 yard, 4 inch thing in particular.
Sorry. I don't like to edit other people's posts, but felt it important to add this.

UPDATE

In the first 24 hours, we have raised $430.88. This information has been added to the OP in this thread, and will be updated periodically (NOT daily). This is a great start, and hopefully we will continue to make good progress.

Additionally, I will be posting some items for sale in the Classified thread. Monies from these items will go directly to the defense fund. As soon as the ads are up, I will post links to those items in the OP as well. If anyone wants to do something similar, please contact me, and I will make sure links to your items are included in the OP as well, and we will coordinate to confirm the payment has been received into the fund before you deliver your items.

Thank you for your continued support!

Hello Everyone,

I just signed up here in response to Mountain Jacks arrest. It has upset me greatly. Please accept my donation of $100; a paypal payment has been sent.
