First, the thread title, a link given in the OP, and a newspaper article headline all pretty much said it occurred at the rally. This is what initially came to my (and other readers here) attention, so that's the starting point of interest. Secondly, even assuming one has the time to dig past all of these sources and find out that Mtn Jack actually wasn't at the rally (was he coming from Bible study then, and had the misfortune to walk near an area at which a rally was occurring?), does that matter? The support for the man's actions do not diminish in either case, as far as I'm concerned... and truth be told, support should be stronger yet if he actually were at the rally and making a statement, as this thread leads one to believe. Geez, quit choking on gnats, will you? If you're that concerned with whether he was at the rally or not, complain to the OP and/or post your link to what truly happened. Mtn Jack himself stopped by and posted on this thread and didn't take pains to differentiate whether he was technically "at the rally" or just beyond it. Sheesh! Wow...this was surprising to see this early in the morning. From the information I've obtained, it looks like MTNJack had his rights completely violated. MTNJack is just a great American. He stood outside of the "zone" with a bible and gun in holster...nothing wrong with that in the State of Pa. He did this because? The great Messiah bashed Pa residents stating that "we cling to our bibles and guns".
I want to say thank you for representing all of us at the rally. At least someone has the balls to stand up for what he believes. I hope the Secret Service got handed a gorilla flier in the illegal arrest/seizure. At least they'll be better prepared & educated for the next time they enter our great state of Pa. People protest all the time.....what is so damn different about this situation? It was a legitimate protest...it was a smart protest....one that probably went directly to Obama....Pa residents will not be treated lower than everyone else because we "cling to our bibles and guns" How can you be charged with disorderly conduct when it just involves educating the general public with fliers. Ya...he had a gun...ya it was loaded...Yes, it was in a holster properly secured....It's perfectly legal here....I don't see them arresting people with anti-obama posters....I'm anxious to see how this unfolds in the coming weeks. Bravo- MTNJack...you make us all proud.

If MTN Jack does get cited for an offense, they will most likely try something from this code.
USC Title 18, Section 1752 Sec. 1752. Temporary residences and offices of the President and others (a) It shall be unlawful for any person or group of persons - (1) willfully and knowingly to enter or remain in (i) any building or grounds designated by the Secretary of the Treasury as temporary residences of the President or other person protected by the Secret Service or as temporary offices of the President and his staff or of any other person protected by the Secret Service, or (ii) any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area of a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting, in violation of the regulations governing ingress or egress thereto: (2) with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, to engage in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any building or grounds designated in paragraph (1) when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions; (3) willfully and knowingly to obstruct or impede ingress or egress to or from any building, grounds, or area designated or enumerated in paragraph (1); or (4) willfully and knowingly to engage in any act of physical violence against any person or property in any building, grounds, or area designated or enumerated in paragraph (1). (b) Violation of this section, and attempts or conspiracies to commit such violations, shall be punishable by a fine under this title or imprisonment not exceeding six months, or both. (c) Violation of this section, and attempts or conspiracies to commit such violations, shall be prosecuted by the United States attorney in the Federal district court having jurisdiction of the place where the offense occurred. (d) The Secretary of the Treasury is authorized - (1) to designate by regulations the buildings and grounds which constitute the temporary residences of the President or other person protected by the Secret Service and the temporary offices of the President and his staff or of any other person protected by the Secret Service, and (2) to prescribe regulations governing ingress or egress to such buildings and grounds and to posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted areas where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting. (e) None of the laws of the United States or of the several States and the District of Columbia shall be superseded by this section. (f) As used in this section, the term "other person protected by the Secret Service" means any person whom the United States Secret Service is authorized to protect under section 3056 of this title when such person has not declined such protection.

I don't know where MTN Jack was when he was arrested. I do know that the park the rally was held in was roped off, but the side walks were not. The same block across the street was also roped off, again with the exception of the sidewalks. The main street was closed off for maybe a block or two in each direction. All traffic was diverted to a side street.

It shouldn't be surprising if Jack makes no public comment on the actual events of last evening. There will also be some who have more specific info which they cannot post publicly, though they may be able to correct false assertions. Words choice is important. Facts are important. We will likely get alot of traffic from this incident, so it's important that any clear inaccuracies be corrected as soon as possible, so they do not spread. We want to be a source of awareness and support, not a vehicle for rumor and innuendo.
