I'm not a lawyer, but let's look at this: Atkinson testified that he saw a man with a gun, right? And the cops subsequently encountered Jack with a gun, right? Jack presumably testified to having a gun, right?

What good does discrediting the guy do? What part of his testimony are you trying to impeach? I guess you could introduce some doubt in the jury's mind about the motivation of the guy who made the MWAG call, but it seems to me that the defense has all but stipulated that Jack did actually have a gun. You might successfully make the point that he was not "disrupted." More on that later.

It would make us (and probably Jack) feel good, but I see nothing gained or lost by pummeling Atkinson.

From what we know and can armchair quarterback, the entire thing hinges upon whether or not these 12 individuals have a sane definition of "disrupt." Since there was not disruption until the cops moved in on Jack, I don't see the problem.

I'm on pins & needles here... someone posted like 30 or 45 mins ago that they were going into the courtroom... did they mean they jury was back from deliberation & all parties were called into the courtroom?
When I was on a jury last month, we had our verdict delivered in just a few minutes after entering the courtroom after deliberation had ended.
