There are some LEOs who will hassle you, but there are just as many who won't, and maybe even more. And of course, just like regular people, there are plenty who will go right by you and never notice you are carrying.

As for negative vibes, that is something you need to decide for yourself, and if you are not comfortable with it, don't do it - either for your own sake or for the relationship with your wife. But keep in mind that the police are not our overlords. We do not have to please them. We do have to obey the law. If they don't like the law the way it is written, they have every opportunity to organize, run for elected positions, etc, to change that law, as we do.

Well, as HC pointed out. I would not do anything your not comfortable with.
That said. Police hassle is the exception rather than the rule.
I OC all over the poconos. Had one incident, which was not while OC'ing alone, in several years. Almost 2 years of 99% OC on my free time. That one incident has also brought the matter to the attention of police statewide. I think your chances of being hassled by LEO are going down by the day.

All that said, if you do decide to try OC, I recommend doing some research and rehearse what you'll say to LEO.

From my personal experience, I have had my firearm removed by a cop three times, and once, after heading one off as he was obviously looking for "the man with the gun", just showed my LTCF and he was good with that, right or wrong. Maybe I have a higher than average incident count. Maybe it is the area I live in. But these incidents have caused me to OC a bit less than I used to. Where before them I may have OC'd 99% of the time, I now OC maybe 80% of the time. These incidents are the stated reason my wife constantly nags me when I OC. Not tactical soundness, not is it right or wrong, not that she doesn't like it, but the hassle and always present possibility of incarceration. Whatever OC is supposed to be, and whatever the law is, does not provide an immediate shield from molestation while OC'ing. It is not treated the same by LE uniformly throughout the Commonwealth, so some areas seem to be riskier then others. This is not to say you should or shouldn't OC. It is just that until someone in authority publicly announces that OC'ers should not be hassled(I am all too aware of Ortiz and Hawkins, but it would seem those in positions of authority either are not or don't care), the risk is always there. To say that the risk goes down everyday, is, I think, coming from Pa. Patriot, opinion or not, going to be taken as Gospel. I would love it to be so, but I don't necessarily think it is...

IOWs, the risk is always there, and it does take some gumption to OC, knowing your day could end badly. Just be prepared, much like having your firearm, hope to never need it, but have it just in case..... But hell, I still do it anyway
