The BG was illogical.

He would have certainly driven those androids of the "I, Mudd" episode into burning out.

"illogical, illogical, illogical..."

People can say what they want about Pittsburgh, but for the most part, I find it very safe. I have no problem walking around at night in MOST places, even the lower hill district, where the Souper Bowl and Shale's are located on 5th avenue. Glad you are okay, but that area wouldn't have even crossed my mind as being unsafe. I frequent that area a lot, i only live about 10 minutes from there, and have never had a problem or similar occurence. Even walking around the stadiums and the north side and town at night i have never had any problems, save for the occasional panhandler, and they don't get aggressive, at least in my experience.

Stay out of the obvious trouble spots, and I have found absolutely no problems around here. Just my experiences.

this is a good, pretty safe area, but just goes to show you that even the best areas have crime.

Good point. In a busy locale such as a gas station, making a loud scene with verbal commands gets people looking at you. That way, if they guy decides to try his luck, and you put the threat down, all the witnesses can say how you kept trying to order him back and to drop his weapon, yet the badguy kept attacking, and you had no choice but to use your weapon.

I disagree. Drawing the firearm may as well stop the threat. You don't have to shoot just because you draw. Draw, then see where the situation is going if possible. Obviously if the guy is charging you then shoot.

DUDE. Is this shit for real?

Because I don't like stories.

Anyway, I'll be in dormont tomorrow. Prob. not OCing. But as far as pittsburgh goes is't one of the better places to be.

I'm not sure if your story is bullshit, but if you are telling the truth then i'm glad you didn't get "shanked"

That's a ridiculous analogy.

DanP recently gave his account of his experience with having to draw on four stun gun-wielding thugs. He was also quoted in a recent Philthydelphia Inquirer article about a book on gun owners.

They ran, so he didn't NEED to shoot.

Care to explain your analogy?

Glad you're okay. I do hope you realize you would have been torched by a fireball if you were shooting while spraying gasoline from the pump hose. I want to suggest in the strongest possible terms that when confronted with deadly force while armed, you focus on the threat and shot placement, not gimmicks like the gas pump. I also think it is imperative in a situation like you described you order the attacker away/down in a command voice, and not discuss conversationally whether you are police. Finally, should anything like this happen again I hope you call 911 immediately and both report the guy as he should be arrested for this assault, and to establish yourself as the victim for the authorities.

Well if we are going to get technical, then it would have to be:

żNo hablas Ingles?

Hablo is first person, so if you are going to ask someone else, it needs to be second person singular.
