I USED to take everything on here at face value, and still like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But after some of the more infamous lies around here you sometimes have to throw the "bullsht flag" untl the OP convinces you otherwise.

I'll second this sentiment. It is my understanding that the OP travels frequently for work, and for extended periods at times. At this point, I'm not ready to write off his entire account because he hasn't posted lately.

Great story. I lived in Bensalem for 5 years and moved back to western Pa last year. After several trips to Pittsburgh since being back, I honestly felt safer back there.

therew is no such thing as a no danger, or "safe zone" anywhere. Dormont is a very nice place but bad things do happen here as every single place on earth.

always call 911 if you have to draw your weapon, the first person to call is awarded victim status and will have an edge concerning the situation when or if it goes beyond just reporting. it could very well make a difference between innocence and a conviction. It happens all the time.

I didn't read all the posts so I'm sorry if this is a repeat.

I know it's easy to think what the best course of action should be when sitting safe behind my computer but a few things about the original post bother me a bit. First, how did your OC pay off if the dirtbag kept coming even after he saw your handgun? IMO it would have paid off if he would have turned tail and ran after noticing you were armed. Since you claim you had to draw your weapon it wouldn't have mattered of you were OC of CC that weapon.

Secondly, why would pointing a gas nozzle at him change his mind about mugging you when a handgun didn't? It seems that you may have put yourself at a disadvantage by tying up one of your hands with a gas nozzle.

Like I said, it's easy to be an armchair quarterback and I'm glad you are alright...

And that's why we carry folks, congradulations, I'm sure there were a few touchy seconds there, but I believe you did the right the right thing, and I don't think any cop would disagree!! Well Done!!
