With all these OC hassling as of late - sooner or later it may come down to another Battle of Athens if these municipalities keep up these tactics.

I was out for a walk after dinner (open-carrying).
Wilkes-Barre City police stopped me because someone called 911.
My firearm was taken from me.
I was cursed at and insulted.
Then I was told that open-carry is not allowed.
That only police officers can open-carry.
And that Pennsylvania doesn't recognize any out-of-state concealed carry permits.
They gave no legal reason for the seizure of my firearm.
And if I wanted my firearm back I would have to go down to police HQ on Monday with a lawyer.
I have contacted an attorney and am following his instructions.

Your thoughts, comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unbelievable. Don't stand for just getting your gun back, and good luck.

Actually, the generalities I inquired about referred to what his legal counsel told him, not what transpired during the allegedly illegal retention of his firearm.

But you knew that, Rich.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Hearing things like this makes me sick.

On a brighter note, you definitely came to the right place. You're in good hands now.

You definitely have to pursue legal action. This cannot be allowed to happen. Period.

Good luck.

Good luck to you, it sounds like they did more than enough on this one to warrant legal action.

Welcome to the forum...
Sounds like you have good council and you are on your way to getting your firearm back as well as taking a stand for all of our second amendment rights. Thank you for standing tall and good luck..

We're all behind you on this one - and if there is anything I can do to help, just shoot me a PM.

And as always my hosting services for any media related to this incident are free for the asking!
