I have to agree with you on this, I would rather be able to act towards a threat without the threat knowing what I've got up my sleeve. On the other hand open carrying would probably deter trouble all together, unless they are like some people I have seen who are hopped up on something and they don't notice/care what is going on. I feel there are pros and cons to both sides, but I'll keep mine under cover. Just my humble opinion..

I open carry when I am scouting or hunting. When I go out to the store or somewhere else i keep it covered. The way I look at it there is a time and a place for everything. I would also like the upper hand if something happens.

Why open carry? Because it's a pain in the ass trying to hide a Hi-Point "compact" C-9. My shirts aren't extra large, and I prefer to have my shirt tucked in (it's the civilized thing to do).
Had to run to the store tonight. A quick stop at Nic's Tobacco Shop in Spangler, followed up by a stop at the Dollar General store in Barnesboro. Open carried all the way down and back. No stares, pointed fingers, or worried mothers grabbing their little ones to protect them. I didn't care, they didn't care.

I understand you're curious and I am not being sarcastic, but this has been done at least twice in the last two weeks. Why not look through those threads, I'm pretty sure every possible reason was posted.

+1 I was going to reply along the lines of, "Oh Geez! Not this shit again!", but I think you covered it quite well for me Gary. Thank you. -38SnubFan

Hope nobody minds, I have one more post for this topic...
I am VERY HAPPY some people open carry. I plan to start doing so in the next few days. If we do not exercise and display a RIGHT people start forgetting it is a RIGHT. Then we lose that RIGHT. Do you really want gun laws to get even tougher than they are now? I am not an antagonist but will soon start open carrying. If nothing else it will give me the opportunity to hand out a lot of flyers and explain our RIGHTS. Ok, I'll shut up & go to bed now... ![]() P.S. I'll still have my NAA revolver in my pocket. I always do. |
