Default I OC'd in a bank today and.....

-

.......I'm not typing this on the Wi-Fi in the jailhouse.

A crook didn't single me out as a threat and shoot me first.

Fidelity Deposit Main Office on N Washington Ave Scranton.

No problems or issues. The teller kept taking looks at the firearm once she noticed it. Almost like "OMG! Does that guy actually have a gun?" She didn't look worried or anything - it's just that that's prolly not all that a common thing to see.

I was changing my address on my checks (the township re-zoned and everybody's address changed - what a PITA!) and the girl had to go check with the three lead ladies in the rear (in plain view of me)....The pointing etc. could very well have been just about the checks....but I think not.
My two boys were with me which prolly helped with the 'good-guy' perception.
10 minutes later, I was on my way.

I also hit Gander Mountain in Dickson City (about 10:30am).....doesn't a PAFOA member work there? I was OC'ing because I didn't have to check my weapon in (sign says so). Nobody asked me anything at all. No issues.
But I have fallen in full love for the XD45 Tactical! I handled it again today. I'm surprised that my CZ-75BD is actually heavier than that 5" XD!

I OC'd in LOWES...I bought all the wood for my garage project (see my 'prayers needed' thread in the Lounge).

In Dunkin' Donuts on rt307/Moosic St, Scranton. 4 Scranton police officers in there. Two in line and two at a table. I didn't see their cars outside until I left.....they park BEHIND the joint. No issues.

Overall – a good OC day.

Nope.

i'm not the first to do it. Many have gone before me.....but we've had many OC debates about how absurd, wrong, or stupid it is to OC in a bank cuz you'll either end up arrested or killed first.

Neither happened.

But me and the boys DID get Dum Dum lollipops! (Pineapple for me!)

way to go. I am doing training up in the Scranton area these days at the Radisson Lackawanna station hotel, and have been thinking of OC'ing up in the city one day. Sounds like it is an ok place to OC in, so I will not worry about it so much

Agreed, I dont truly know why I would be hesitant on OC'ing in Scranton when I have already OC'd in the big bad left wing Lehigh Valley.

Gary is an OC master. I OC at my bank, BOA in Bangor, all the time. I know all the tellers and the manager by name.

Gary, I missed you today I worked 4:00 to close at Gander. They don't seem to mind the customers carrying just the employees. I normally don't notice any reactions to customers that oc in the firearms department. It seems normal at least to me.
