I choose to OC because it's more comfortable - simple as that. IWB holsters are painful.
Besides that, it's my right to, and it helps to raise awareness of legal firearm carry. You might want to have a look at this thread: http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...cc-permit.html Though after a few pages it degenerated into the standard OC v.s. CC flame war, but the first few pages are enlightening.

I'm sure you're going to find many reasons from many different reasons here as to why some of us Open Carry (at least part of the time).
About half of the time it's more prudent for me to carry it concealed (my grandmother doesn't like seeing it, nor does my son's school when I drop him off in the morning, nor does my grandmother who I take out regularly to run errands). When it's not prudent for me to conceal it, I prefer to be comfortable with my shirt(s) tucked in, or just because I don't feel like selecting a cover garment. Sometimes, I just carry openly because it's legal to, because I can, and because experience has shown me that as long as I don't look like a thug or a serial killer, nobody is really going to freak out seeing a properly holstered handgun on my hip. Above all, my reason for carrying, whether it be open or concealed, is very simple: CARRYING THE POLICE OFFICER IS JUST TOO DAMN HEAVY! Hope this inspires and encourages you. All the best, 38SnubFan
