+1 MJ. Well, not really. I have to spread the love first. I agree with your way of thinking.

I just want to let everyone here know that you have support in NC as well. I have read through all of the posts and it really upsets me that even our LEO's do not know the laws. I have OC'd around NC for a couple years now and will continue to do so. I have my CCWP for a purpose. My right to OC is more important to me than my CCWP that had to be descided in depth by my Goverment. I hope that all is well and there will not be any major Law changes because of this incident. Good Luck to everyone that cares! JB

Yes it's your right to proceed with the case, but in my opinion you're no better than the cops who mistreated you.
Whoa there sailor. You need a serious attitude adjustment.

The cops violated the rights of innocent and law abiding citizens. Those rights were earned in blood and great risk and continue to be defended in the same manner. When anyone violates those rights, they attempt to render as irrelevant all sacrifices made to obtain and secure those rights. That's what the cops did. It's far beyond interrupting a few bites of food. They deserve to have their careers ended (even though we both know that's not gonna happen).

Thumbs up Thank you PA Patriot and co.

Hello, I’ve just finished reading this thread, ahhhhhh . . . . . . , and I really appreciate the work you are doing to protect our freedoms. I looked up this thread after reading about the illegal firearm seizure in Wilkes-Barre on USACarry.com. That thread mentioned PA Patriot’s arrest which lured me in. (Little did I imagine the reading into which I got myself... )

I'm new to the idea of OC, but it is legal here in CT if I have a pistol permit. (My permit is currently in the works.) In reality, however, I can’t OC in public. Maybe we'll be able to change that...

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement to continue the education process.

"Justice the Guardian of Liberty" is inscibed at the Supreme Court. I pray that is proven true here. God bless.

Dickson City force still five short

BY CHARLES SCHILLINGER

DICKSON CITY — Scarred by lawsuit after lawsuit, the borough is struggling to overcome legal issues with hiring new police officers.

The borough initiated civil service testing in May 2007 to hire two additional officers and bring the number of full-time officers to nine.

More than a year later, the borough has just four full-time officers, including the temporary loss of Chief William Stadnitski, who will be on leave through at least August due to a work-related injury.

The process stalled after concerns with a physical agility portion of the test late last year. The borough hired a law firm in December to review the civil service ordinance.

While work to modify the ordinance for testing police candidates now appears complete, candidates will have to retake the entire test or at least part of it before the borough can hire any officers.

Councilman Stanley Prushinski said he wants to restart the entire process as soon as possible, no matter what further concerns there might be from the legal advisers.

“We’re so gun-shy. We say something and the lawyers say we need to do this or that,” said Mr. Prushinski, who is also a member of the borough Civil Service Commission.

But the borough has reason to be wary. In the last two years, it settled about six lawsuits for almost $500,000, ranging from wrongful termination to sexual harassment in the workplace.

The borough has also recently been sued by five people related to a gun-carrying incident at Old Country Buffet in May.

But at a council meeting last week, resident Thomas Logan raised concerns about having so few full-time officers on duty.

“You’ve been sitting on this test since November. What’s it going to take, a death?” he asked.

The commission is expected to meet at the end of the month to come up with a plan.

Gee, maybe they wouldn't be so "scarred" if they actually knew and applied the laws appropriately - including those dealing with employee/employer situations.

Be sure to check out the COMMENTS section of the news article. These aren't gun owners writing in, but rather local citizens. Maybe they ought to take up arms and overthrow their government.
