On the Steve Corbett radio show, Corbett said that Philadelphia has a local ordinance against open-carry and that Dickson City and other towns should consider doing the same.

Since when is this a local Philly ordinance? The law against OC in Philly without a LTCF is in the UFA. Sounds like AG Corbett does not understand the law, unless I am wrong. The UFA IS the law on firearms, and per preemption I don't see how local municipalities could enact their own laws restricting OC.

I'm also disappointed in Corbett for saying those OCing at the OCB made the place more dangerous. I thought this guy was pro-gun. Extremely disappointed in Corbett.

The Corbett in the story is not PA AG Corbett. I think he is a radio talk show host.

That restaurant was never safer than it was for the hour or so that the PAFOA members were there having dinner. Criminals are mostly cowards, but they are not all stupid. They wouldn’t try an armed robbery in a place where a dozen law-abiding citizens are carrying guns.

OK, please pardon the hijack, but this story always makes me laugh. (And BTW I'm on ya'll's side on this issue, but after 1700+pages maybe a good story is in order).

Years ago I worked next door to a McDonald's in Baton Rouge. About 2 blocks away was police headquarters, so the restaurant was always full of both uniformed cops and detectives in suits/plainclothes. One day at lunch time this guy comes into the place, pulls a snubby 38 and shouts "Everybody down, this is a robbery."

Have you ever seen one of those scenes in a movie where about 100 guns all rack at the same time? That's just about what happenned and the guy went to jail as the dumbest, most unfortunate crook in Baton Rouge history.

He is a felon, but its not for anything serious.

He got a felony wiretapping charge for something stupid, and I believe it ended up being dismissed in the end.
