You're kidding right?

God, I hope you're kidding.

There is no reason to disarm anyone in Philly. A simple check of the LTCF is more than enough.

That cop pointed the first firearm directly into the guy chest while he was checking it (his friend made a comment to the cop), not to mention he didn't know how to clear it, he had to ask...

The second weapons check was again pointed at the owner and then pointed behind the officer right into a girl standing there 20 feet away.

Seriously?

I should have clarified myself. No need to sneak up on people with guns drawn, calling someone "junior" and threatening to shoot them. Disarming not necessary either. I meant the courteous way the questioning was handled. You are correct, big fail on muzzle discipline by the cop.

This has been posted and berated. 12031(e) is not required and is being challenged for 4th amendment violations under illegal seizure. However, you are correct. This is how Mark's encounter should have been handled.

Because in California to openly carry without a license the gun has to be unloaded.

That cop truly did not even know to retract the slide to check the chamber of the pistol...

Equally embarrassing was his look of confusion at the slide remaining locked (empty magazine was inserted)...

What the hell would this guy do if he ever had to use his own sidearm doing - oh, I dunno, police work, for instance?

Sad

BTW, yes he was polite, but plenty of people can shake your right hand while stabbing you with their left...

Regards,

Bones
