Default PAFOA Open Carry Dinner.......

WOW! The Erie folks have got it going on!

http://www.pafoa.org/forum/erie-12/

Now I am not dedicated enough to be an event organizer for such an event....But I'd love to participate!

I'm posting this in General Discussion cuz I think the Erie folks have got a good idea that all regions of PAFOA may enjoy.

If one were in NEPA - I'd go!

<GRIN> ...... with some of the "OC public perception" discussions going on in a few other threads, an OC Dinner ought to be FUN! We'd either get some reeeeaaal nice service from our servers or we would get the entire buffet to ourselves when we went up! LOL!

Gary, I started a thread back in the summer and it drew some interest. Unfortunately I got busy and never followed up so it never happened.

You want to coordinate? Let's get the ball rolling.

I've OC'd lot's of places in the wyoming valley, so if everyone is more comfortable we can go to one of those places that I've already patronized...

There should be one somewhere where they generally don't see anything like it, like Delaware County, and not the way-out part either.

I'd be a poor organizer as I usually don't get much 'puter time.
But then - it doesn't sound all that difficult.

I s'pose we just pick a place that's convenient to most in NEPA and announce in this general forum as well as the NEPA county forums below.

I live near-ish the Daleville exit of I-380 nearly smack between Scranton and Tobyhanna.

Anywhere in Luzurne/Lacka/Monroe would do.

And are we limited just to places that PAFOA members have frequented???

Right here is good.
1) We live here
2) it is not common here either
3) Delco area folks should organize one of their own too Heck, I might even make the drive down

No, surely not. I was just throwing that out there since that was a concern of some of the potential participants in the Erie Co. thread.
IOW, they didn't want to go somewhere only to be asked to leave and have to re-deploy on the spot.

I think an informal diner/pizza shop or Denny's type place would be the best candidates. Something informal and cheap with room for us to sit/converse.

Hmmmmm......

When looking at NEPA on the map, W-B appears to be good location. Can pull in the Mt Pocono, Scranton, Hazleton, etc....

Or maybe one of the places up da Montage (Stadium club?)

So basically a chain restaurant. Good enough to make lots of noise, etc.

But it should be early, like 5 or 6pm. Personally, when I go out to eat I like to sit for a long time, and with a larger group of people, it wouldn't be out of the question to be there for 3 or 4 hours.

Pocono area is cool though if that is where it ends up.

Yeah, I agree. Got to allow drive time too though.
I would love to see something set up maybe in the allentown area. This would be not too far for us up here and not too far for Delco, etc.

Gary, are you wanting to just do a small local thing? If so, great. Lets pick a time and place and how ever many show, so be it.

We can also plan a bigger one more central to where the interest is. I think reefblue is volunteering
