    Default Open Carry Hiking Club

Anyone interested in getting together for some hiking trips around PA? Thought it might be a neat idea.

Sure, I'm willing to travel up to 1.5 hrs away to hike. Good place up by me? There are a couple, most popular is the Appalachian Trail. The other places however are state parks, which if I recall correct CC ok OC no no.

Do you have a place in mind?

I had talked with some other guys at a shoot in York about coming up to Clinton County for a day hike, but we can move it around the state for different times. Fall is my favorite time to get out in the woods. Yeah I have a lot of State forest with trails around me where I can OC. When I go into a state park I just untuck my shirt and cover it up.

I'd be up for something closer to the end of this month and later. Any good places up there to go camping? Weekend would be better. It's a 3 hour drive from the York area and I'd rather make it one of my camping weekends, instead of driving 6 hours in one day.

Ya, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. It's on state forest land and has several miles of trails. I think there is a web page for it. It is located outside Port Clinton, Pa

You couldn't do this when you were still in Ebensburg Tim?

Me and some friends recently did a day hike OC'ing the whole time and we used this site http://www.pahikes.com/ It's an ok resource with peoples experience and some pictures.

It was a good time but a bit wet at points. I was defiantly beat after 12miles though and my feet hurt a bit. I also got to inform a few people about OC and the basics of it all so it was a great day.

There are a lot of places there that we could hit up. I like the natural area off of 403. That's a great day hike.
