Default legality

hi,,,i am a responsible hunter and tax-payer in pa.,,,i own several t.c contender frames and barrels from 223 to 35 rem,,,the 35 rem is what i hunt with,,,16",,,all other barrels are 14",,,i recently bought a rifle stock for the 35 rem only because of the recoil to my wrists,,,the other calibers are fine on my wrists(223 and 30-30),,,can i be prosecuted for having a rifle stock for my 35 rem 16" barrel and having in possession a 14" barrel if it is not mounted to the stock,,,thanks

Most "Internet Lawyers" would say ..

BLAH BLAH BLAH... $250,000 .. fed time blah blah

IMHO DO what you want.

You need at least a 16" barrel and a 26" Overall length to be "Legal"

hi,,,so you are saying,,,just because of the stock in posession with a 14" barrel that i can be prosecuted, thats absurd,,,this is a pistol frame with a legal length 16" barrel,,,so just that i have 2-14" barrels makes it illegal,,,people tell me i can do anything to a pistol frame,,,now a rifle frame is a whole different story ,,,thanks

Default Re: legality

I'm sure someone will come along and post a direct link, but I'm sure if you do a search for something like "Thompson Center Contender NFA ruling," you'll probably come up with some useful information. T/C fought against the ATF, and won as I recall.

You should be fine as long as you bought the frames as pistols, and you don't attach a barrel shorter than 16" with the rifle stock attached.
