Default Can advice needed

i am looking in the near future to purchase my first NFA item/items.

my wife likes to shoot, but doesn't like the loud noise. my solution is to get her a 9mm Can for her Sig P239 9mm Tactical. (also for my P226, but don't tell her that)

ontop of that i might as well get a Can for the AR-15 and Sig P220 all at the same time.

what Cans should i get?

you may want to check out silencertalk and silencer research for more info.

The silencer research site has reviews and tests of many of the cans available. Some of the site is open only to "paid" members. I believe that it is only $35 or so. Well worth it if you are looking to drop money on a couple different suppressors. Don't get too hung up over minute decibel ratings as I'm sure .3 dB is probably not noticeable to most ears. But do look for features that work for you and what you want the can to do for you - and of course what is in your budget.

Just watch out - stamp collecting is addictive.

The best advice i can give it try to listen to and/or shoot one of the host weapons with a supp on it. mainly the AR platform. a good can will deffinatly quiet down the muzzle noise, but you will have to shoot sub-sonic ammo to really get your money's worth. The down side to this is your AR probably wont cycle with sub-sonic ammo. Some manufactures state that sub-sonics thru center fire waepons will viod their warrenty. main reason is baffle strikes. not saying they wont fix the can for you, but you will pay for it.
Now pistol suppressors, those are a different story with the sub-sonic ammo.....just plain fun
