Default Luzerne county sheriff

I am trying to legally buy a suppressor for my M11.
The Luzerne county sheriff has refused to sign my BATF form.
Has anyone else had the same problem?
I have found another solution, just wondering about the sheriff in Luzerne county.
Thanks

What reason did he give for not wanting to sign? He's an ex-PSP Trooper and probably doesn't feel you should have own.

I am not in your county but i'd just go the llc or trust route. I did my first sbr a few years ago and my local cleo signed without any problems. I went the llc route after that because it is so much easier. No waiting on cleo, no fingerprints, no photos. Plus, you can name other officers so they can have access to your nfa stuff too. I wouldn't even give it a second thought. With the llc, i do need to fill out yearly tax forms but that is no big deal. The other plus to llc is that should you ever decide to get out of the nfa toys, you can sell your company to someone and not need to transfer the items to them. They just take over ownership of your company.

I went to the Sheriffs office to get my form signed. Some deputies recognized me from when I bought my M11 a few years earlier. They were eager to help.
They took the form to the the sheriff for his signature, he went off on a rant.
He yelled at me from acros the office, telling me he would not sign his form.
I politley asked is I could come into the office and talk. He yelled at me to not step across the threshold of he office space. The deputies looked on in surprise and embaressment. I again asked to come in, he yelled no, that he was not going to sign any forms as the sheriffs office would not be held liable in the event I miss-used the item, (he did not even know he was going to sign for a suppressor).
Now imagine that, I am a military veteren (US Navy, nuclear power submarines) , with a concealed carry permit that currently works at a commercial nuclear power plant, and I am a foreman there, and have been for 20 years, and he is concerned that I may miss-use the suppressor and hold him liable.
Anyway, I know the District Justice and will get his signature.
The LLC sounds interesting also, I need to talk to my accountant about that.
Thanks for all of the responses.
I just found this site and I like what I see here.

I was talking today with a guy who lives in the area where I work as a LEO. In fact, I've signed many of his forms for silencers, etc.....and the dufus sheriff came up.

Neither the Sheriff Stankus nor Chief Dessoye from Wilkes-Barre PD will sign off on any of the forms.

My friend has a friend who used to live in WB, but had to move out to the Back Mt area in order to get his forms signed.

The qualifications for the job are minimal and ...well...you get what you pay for.

I know that. You know that. Most people with a brain know that.

Thats like holding PennDot responsible because you drove a car and killed someone with it.
