sheriff calling pistol permit references

So a couple of my friends that i used on my pistol permit over last year, got calls from the sheriffs office today, inquiring about me and my ATF form 1 application.
oddly enough, the person making the phone calls was also giving out some kinda private information related to my juvenile years?

well....who cares, because they just called and said they are good to come pick up, getting them first thing in the morning.

That is bullshit. I don't know this particular stuff, but this just smells of some broken laws. At least PM one of the lawyers around here such as Gunlawyer001 to see if there might have been something. Gnbrotz (not a lawyer) might also be a guy to run it by.
