Default Do I have to be a citizen for SBR?

    Hello everybody.

I have a question regarding SBR and full auto. I heard that individual who wants to get full auto or SBR has to be a citizens. Is it true?
I'm green card holder, am I eligible to get sbr or fa?

    Thanks

Green card holders can obtain NFA firearms. They are treated no different than a regular firearm. If you look at the back of a Form 4, you'll see that a non-citizen is only prohibited if "who, being an alien, is illegally or unlawfully in the United States or except as provided in 18 U.S.C. 922(y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a non-immigrant visa (as that term is defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(26))"

    Thank you.

I asked because I was confused by some sporting goods store associates.

Sporting goods? Forget them. Go to a local gun-shop for that type of thing. You MIGHT find a knowledgable person.... but you almost definately will at a local shop. Obviously one that sells NFA.

That being said, I see little reason to own an SBR. A 16 inch barreled rifle with a collapsible stock is plenty small in my opinion. But, to each his own.

That's your problem right there lol. You need to go to someone knowledgable about the intricacies of NFA.

I'm 25 miles East of Pittsburgh if there is anything I can help you out with.

Stupid question: Do you have a PA Driver's License or non-driver's ID? That makes it much easier there for the 4473.

Yes I do. I'm PA resident and already have a firearm.
